A few years ago, Liisa and I sparked the idea of starting a blog for a variety of reasons. As time rolled along and we thought about a blog site more, “just a blog” turned into a website. And here we are—we did it.

But why blog? Stepping back from the general social media craze is a main reason. So much drama, so many opinions, and now censorship have caused a social media presence to become distasteful. Having a blog is our take on a more purposeful and thoughtful way to update readers, and subscribing is a simple way for readers to “stay in the loop.” A “blog post” then becomes a more significant item than just a random blurb on someone’s media feed.

I feel like blogging was more popular a decade ago and that we are stepping back in time a bit. However, our blog carries an intention of stepping away from the norm, simply to be different and more deliberate. Our blog is also intended to be simple, fun, engaging, encouraging, and true. We welcome our visitors’ and subscribers’ comments, questions, and feedback to help us be a better blog site.
