This was a big week for us! On Wednesday, we packaged up our Philippines paperwork and sent it off to our adoption agency. Over the past 6 months, several people have written letters, answered questions, and notarized their signatures to help us get to this point. “Grateful” doesn’t seem good enough to describe how we felt dropping the 2+ lb. envelope in the mail. We are blessed to have so many wonderfully supportive people in our lives.
What’s next, you may ask? Well, the hurry-up-and-wait continues. Our agency reviews the paperwork and sends it off to the Philippines before the end of this month. Once that is shipped, we await a response from the Philippine government. This could be three weeks at minimum, or it could be much longer. Of course, we’re praying that the whole process is smooth and quick.
After the paperwork is accepted in the Philippines, we start reviewing child profiles, or referrals. We just stepped over a landmark threshold (and dropped another large chunk of $$$) to get us closer to this point. We’re excited to see who God has for our family, and we look forward to our next phase of this adoption.
