I’m filling out another hotel review. I’m not sure how many people actually take time to fill these things out, but the very fact that a place has a “how did we do” survey is cause for honesty about the experience. It’s how businesses improve their service. I try not to only fill these out when I have a bad experience, but also when I enjoy my time there. Do I always have time to fill these out? No, and many people don’t. Or at least they don’t take the time to. Do you like it when people tell you how you did—good or bad?
Feedback is a tool of success for businesses, including hotels. Business or pleasure? If you came for business, hopefully you enjoyed your stay enough to bring the family back for a pleasure visit. Take time to let people know how they did, whether online review, a tip, or even just a smile. If the experience was negative, be honest but graceful and constructive. Most of us have a positive experience, but how many times do we give that feedback to those who made it possible?
