Like most everyone else in the country, we were blindsided by the snow, ice, and very low temperatures. I don’t think all the leaves made it off the trees yet! Many people in Montana are experiencing power outages while others also seem to be learning to drive in the winter again.

My victory? I got the Christmas lights up before the temperature dive 😃 Neighbors walked by calling me an overachiever, but now I smile from the warmth of my living room as I look around at all the lightless eaves surrounding us. Did I mention the icicles also hanging from our eaves be gutters? The long, slender glasslike spears always fascinate me. Well, let’s just hope the Christmas lights last through Christmas!

Those who know me well may remember that I’m a warm weather person. Maybe the fact that I don’t sunburn contributes to my preference for sunny weather. Winter weather is something I’ve always struggled getting along with. I’ve been in Montana long enough now though that I can’t really claim newbie status anymore. I’m working on it. The kids and I will have to do better about playing around in the snow this season.

Well, winter has arrived apparently, folks. Stay warm, stay safe, and don’t forget to slow down.
