We have called Missoula/Lolo home for the past seven years, and at our home in Lolo we celebrated so many milestones in our family. We have made so many memories during this chapter of our lives. This is where we went from a family of three to a family of four. This is where we started the adoption process. This is where I studied for my engineering exams and licensing. This is where Liisa’s baking went from just-for-fun to opening a business. This home is where we have grown as a family and as individuals.
Almost four years ago, God brought the city of Hamilton to our attention, and we started to fall in love with the area. As we grew more and more attached to the city, we started to earnestly pray about what God’s plan was for our family and this city that was quickly becoming special to us. For the past several years, we have continued to feel God telling us to “wait.” This year we felt peace about pursuing Hamilton as our new place to call home. Within the first couple months, God lead us to a realtor and home, and He made it abundantly clear that this is the next chapter for us. The amount of ways God has clearly gone before us is still very humbling and exciting. To many, this move may seem sudden and confusing. However, what is not seen are the years we have been praying for God’s leading.
The house selling/buying process has been providentially smooth, but the move will be bittersweet. We have been blessed with lifelong friendships from our time here. We will be an hour away from the friends, the church, and the general area that we’ve called our own for the past seven years. But we trust God for this next chapter, and it is exciting to see His providing hand in our lives.
So yes, we step into a new address this year. Next week—Lord willing—we move into our next home, where we will have to get used to living in a bigger house with more land. I am able to work remotely, still for the engineering firm in Missoula and driving in occasionally for meetings and project site visits. Liisa will merge her business into the new surroundings. We will also look for a new local church in the Hamilton area.
We look forward to new memories and thank God for His goodness in our lives. Living by faith is always rewarding, and it is comforting to know that God is good all the time.
Hi. Yes, it’s me Dad…
Just read your update. So, like as you mentioned that the Lord is leading, so that means that this move will be for the better regardless of how things may appear at first. I don’t know as of yet if I will be able to get over there for the move. Today I am recovering (sore and tired) from all the weed-eating I did over the weekend, because the initial mowing did not work out since the grass was too tall. I would really like to come over and help out with the move. By the way, I noticed on the news that there was a fire in downtown Snoqualmie and some businesses burned up.
If I can’t get over there I will be praying for you all. Love, Dad
